After signing CANWNT captain and midfielder Jessie Fleming to an extension through 2028, the Portland Thorns have followed it up with another important move.
Today, the club have announced that they have signed forward Pietra Tordin to a three-year contract extension through the 2029 NWSL season.
“Pietra has established herself as one of the NWSL’s brightest young talents and has been enjoying a tremendous season,” President and General Manager of Soccer Operations Jeff Agoos said. “She has the talent and character
to become an important part of this club’s future. She’s embraced every opportunity and made a real impact on the field while bringing an infectious energy to our locker room. This extension reflects our belief in her potential and our excitement about the role she’ll continue to play as we build to compete for titles.”
The forward has taken off in the 2026 NWSL season, as she current leads the NWSL with six assists and second with 10 goal contributions.
In January 2025, she received a call-up to the USWNT’s “Futures Camp” and has been a mainstay for the USYNT at the U-20 and U-23 levels. At the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Tordin became a household name. She finished with four goals and the team’s top goalscorer – including a hat trick versus Paraguay.
The Portland Thorns front office under Jeff Agoos have also previously secured extensions through 2028 for forwards Reilyn Turner, Morgan Weaver, and Caiya Hanks.
