Palmer, Reece James, and Malo Gusto all missed the League Cup semifinal because of fitness concerns, while Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens were struck down by illness in the hours leading up to kick-off. That virus has now spread to other members of the team as well, though as of yesterday, no one else had gotten ruled out just yet. And head coach Liam Rosenior was hopeful that Palmer and James could be available against Brentford.
“Both of them are training today (Thursday), so we just need to assess them after training, make sure that they come through all of the protocols they need to come through. It would be great to have them back in the squad. At the moment, it looks like they could be.”
“[Delap] is still at home at the moment, recovering as is Jamie Gittens. Our club doctors are doing everything they can to contain what looks to be a virus because some members of our staff have come down with it as well.”
