Free agency always brings a lot of rumblings, rumors and roster changes through the league. For the New Orleans Saints, it also poses some questions regarding specific positions and players. One in particular is 3rd year quarterback Spencer Rattler, who has many wondering about his future in New Orleans due to the emergence of Tyler Shough. Although Rattler has been the subject of a few trade rumors over the past few weeks, they have been just that as there has been no indication that the Saints are
looking to move on from their 2024 5th round draft pick.
However, even with Shough firmly positioned as their starter, quarterback is still a small position of need due to the fact that the Saints only have 2 on their roster at the moment as Taysom Hill is currently a free agent and Jake Haener signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in February. So, it would be hard to believe given the lack of depth, that Rattler could be traded unless the Saints had the opportunity to pick up a more viable option in free agency to backup Shough this season. But with NFL Draft right around the corner, they could also be eyeing someone in a later round?
So, in this week’s reacts poll we want to know should the Saints sign a veteran backup quarterback? Vote in the link below and let us know your thoughts!
