Indiana men’s basketball was originally set to host another transfer portal visitor this week, but that changed as the Hoosiers’ roster did.
Sebastian Rancik, a rising junior forward at Colorado, was originally meant to take a visit to Bloomington this week but ended up cancelling that visit just a day later. Rancik will now visit Kentucky in Lexington this week as the Wildcats look at their own roster reload.
Given Rancik’s position at power forward and Indiana landing two frontcourt players in SMU
transfer Samet Yigitoglu and Alabama transfer Aiden Sherrell this week, it’s understandable that a guy seemingly looking for a starting spot would do so elsewhere. Yigitoglu is in line to start at center while Sherell’s commitment almost certainly makes him lined up at power forward. There’s no room for Rancik other than off the bench or in a weird jumbo lineup.
Indiana will have a chance to see Rancik on the court in December should he ultimately commit to Kentucky this week.
