Loyalty is something that is engrained in the Mia San Mia mentality at Bayern Munich and a small handful of players that have come and gone have been able to say they spent the majority of their career playing for the German Rekordmeister, if not all of their career. There are certain household names that are just synonymous with the club — Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller, Gerd Müller, Franz Beckenbauer, Sepp Maier, Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger — the list goes on. While there’s always been a ‘once
a player, always a family member’ type of attitude at Bayern, only a certain echelon of greats make it into the annals of pillars of the club’s history.
It’s tough to play for just one club in today’s footballing landscape with the riches on offer in Europe and abroad, and sometimes it’s tough to say no to the request of a player wanting to experience something new in a different place. However, there are still a small handful of players that go against that grain, and Bayern’s Aleksandar Pavlović just might be one of them.
In a recent interview with Tz (via @iMiaSanMia), the 21-year-old said that he could easily see himself spending his whole career at Bayern. When he was asked whether or not that was an option he was considering he replied, “absolutely.” To continue, he added, “I don’t know anything other than FC Bayern. If everything goes as we want it to, there’s no reason to do anything else. I’m giving my all for these colors every single day and I will continue to do so. You can be sure of that.”
The German midfielder has quickly established himself as a focal point in the heart of Bayern’s midfield after he really start to burst into the first team under Thomas Tuchel before he was replaced by Vincent Kompany. He’s incredibly versatile in the center of the pitch with what he’s able to bring to the table with his defensive prowess, passing ability, finishing, spatial awareness, stamina, and never say die mentality. He’s a manager’s player.
