It is shaping up to be Secondary Saturday as Pete Golding and his staff have earned another commitment from a defensive back this time coming from Georgia in Joenel Aguero.
The 5’11” 205 lbs. junior from Lynn, Mass. started 12 games this season for the Bulldogs with 39 total tackles including a career high seven against Tennessee and Mississippi State.
Aguero’s commitment comes on the heels of a commitment from FSU safety Edwin Joseph Jr’s news to come to Oxford next season as well. Just like Joseph, Aguero was a former four star prospect out of high school and ranked as the No. 4 safety prospect in the country at the time.
This should be an immediate impact transfer for Golding’s defense as Kirby Smart and Golding both come from the Nick Saban defensive coordinator school. There should be less of a learning curve you would think, and Aguero with only one year of eligibility remaining likely is expecting to play right away.
Aguero is the 10th commitment in the portal for Ole Miss who is ranked in the top 10 nationally for transfers.
