The New York Jets have a secret weapon to combat the Green Bay Packers in Week 2: Geno Smith.
Excuse me?
Packers DC Jonathan Gannon told the media that Smith “always plays well against me or us or whoever I’m with.”
The stats confirm that it’s true; it’s damn true.
In Smith’s career as a starting quarterback, he has faced off against Gannon-coached defenses four times. In those four games, Smith is undefeated (4-0), has a 71% completion percentage, has thrown for 895 passing yards, has a six touchdown
to two interception ratio, and has a 112.7 QBR.
Gannon should be afraid, very afraid, of facing off against No. 7 on Sunday, September 20.
