You hear that sound?
That’s the sound of the Minnesota Lynx restarting their engines heading into the postseason. After an extremely exciting and overachieving regular season where they finished the number one seed, they had hit their worst skid in the last two years in the last handful of games. Thankfully, they got their get right game last night against the Fever.
Minnesota’s journey for title number five begins at home against the New York Liberty this Sunday 9/27 (Time TBD). This could be a painful
reliving of the 2024 WNBA Finals, or a therapeutic exorcizing of some past trauma. There seems to be no in between on this one.
If you’re more into less successful men’s basketball, the Timberwolves are five days away from training camp. Five. If this offseason felt a little shorter than usual, you can thank Tim Connelly (again) for keeping fans engaged with transactions. From the early blockbuster LaMelo Ball acquisition, to the more Hollywood Video acquisition of Jonathan Kuminga earlier this month, the typical trudge of August through September felt more palatable.
Oh, and the whole LeBron James saga happened too.
The official Wolves content creation team has already begun leaking photoshoots and workout footage to get fans all riled up. The team will aesthetically look very different both from style of play and the new threads, for better or worse. Are you excited?
