Another night, another stat that further solidifies Michael Olise’s position at the top of world football.
This absolute wizard is controlling Bayern’s attack and dominating games like we’ve never seen before in a player. This is one of the best seasons for a winger EVER, and we’re still in March with 3 months left.
The game against Atalanta exemplified Olise’s value; this is a player who rises to the occasion and cut through Atalanta like a hot knife through butter, registering a beautiful assist
and two incredible long-range belters. Both goals were Robben-esque, and the defenders could do nothing about it. When Olise cuts in and curls the ball with his left foot, the conclusion is inevitable.
After his second goal, he received a standing ovation from Atalanta fans. Chills.
And to add to his aura, here’s yet another crazy stat:
Yes, Olise is BY FAR the world’s best winger. Take a backseat, Lamine Yamal. And Antoine Semenyo. And everybody else who sneaks into these conversations.
This is Olise’s season, and he’s arguably the best footballer in the world at the moment (or maybe a close second to Harry Kane). But on the wing position, it isn’t close.
We are witnessing greatness.
