Baisangur Susurkaev kept his undefeated record in tact earlier tonight (Sat., May 9, 2026) at UFC 328 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, putting a brutal stop to fellow middleweight Djorden Santos with a third-round submission (rear-naked choke).
Susurkaev, who was 2-0 in UFC competition heading into Saturday night, brought a lot of hype into the Octagon for another matchup against a winnable opponent. Santos is a tad more dangerous than some of Susurkaev’s previous
foe, but it was still a nice toss up from UFC matchmakers on one of the biggest cards of the year. It was up to Susurkaev to deliver the goods again and prove he’s ready for a top 15 matchup at 185 pounds.
It was an easy showing for Susurkaev in the early going as he kept Santos at bay with heavy calf kicks and whipping punches from range. Susurkaev could have turned the pressure up a bit, but he ended up playing with his food. This allowed Santos to enter inside and land some nice punches of his own. Nothing that put Susurkaev in serious trouble, but enough to get his attention and put a smile on his face.
Eventually, Susurkaev was able to gain control along the fence in Round 3 and hit a tight rear-naked choke attempt. Santos tried fighting the hands, but Susurkaev’s squeeze was too tight. He put Santos out cold and forced the referee’s hand.
