Well, if you lose at home to the Tennessee Titans, someone has to get fired. Today, that someone was Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard. This move was really a long time coming. Ballard has been doing a pretty terrible job with the Colts for years. I hoped they would keep him forever.
Ballard didn’t just get fired because he sent two first-round picks to the New York Jets for CB Sauce Gardner, but that certainly didn’t help. If you are going to trade two first-round picks for a player,
especially a defensive player, that player better be a game wrecker. Gardner is a really good player, but that was a huge overpay.
Colts fans probably think it can’t get any worse than Ballard. Speaking as a Titans fan, it can always get worse. Here’s to hoping whoever the Colts hire is even worse than Ballard, and they go into the same downward spiral the Titans have been in these last few years. They deserve it after getting Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck back-to-back.
