Kodai Senga’s time in Triple-A took a turn for the worse here – six hits, four runs, two walks without getting out of the fourth. He’s probably not going to make the (presumptive) playoff roster at this point unfortunately – hopefully he can get right for next year. Anyway, the Syracuse lineup didn’t do enough to overcome the rough start, only managing three hits.

The Rumble Ponies are headed to the Eastern League Championship! Jack Wenninger’s strong start – backed by just enough offense from the Binghamton lineup – topped the Somerset Patriots to complete the two game sweep of the divisional round. A.J. Ewing was a clear sparkplug atop the lineup, driving in two and adding a triple and a run. A four run seventh from Somerset made things a bit dicey, but Carlos Guzman and (fittingly) Ryan Lambert were equal to the task of protecting the one run lead over the final two innings.
