Match Sharpness
United haven’t played a game in a little over three weeks. It doesn’t matter how much they’ve trained over those three weeks; some of the players are going to feel a bit leggy at the start. Getting a hold of the ball and slowly working their way into the game will go a long way to building some rhythm and match sharpness. Once that’s achieved, United can play with the tempo that fans demand.
Leeds Factor
Leeds United are a historic rival, so United should expect a big fight, but more
importantly for Leeds, they’re in a relegation fight. They’ll do everything within their means to frustrate United and at least nick a draw from this game. United have to prepare themselves mentally for this. The rivals played out a cagey draw the last time these two sides met; United will be well aware of Leeds’ resilience.
Bruno Fernandes
The United captain has a fantastic record against Leeds, scoring his only Premier League hat-trick against them at the start of the 2021-22 season. With not much to play for in terms of team honors and Champions League football looking probable, there’ll be a lot of attention towards his performances, as he looks set to break the Premier League assists record. Of course, the team comes first, but if he gets a few assists along the way, this will be a positive for the team in all likelihood.
