Detroit Pistons big man will miss the next two weeks as he recovers from his hamstring strain, the team announced on Sunday. Duren has been limited to two games this season, after sustaining the injury Oct. 23 against the Miami Heat. He is averaging 13 points and 7.5 rebounds this season.
The Pistons are 4-2 without Duren this season, losing to two Eastern Conference powerhouses, the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.
Detroit has struggled on the boards without their big man. They rank 28th in
the NBA in offensive rebounding percentage in the six games without Duren. The team has also struggled with foul trouble in its depleted big-man lineup, with JB Bickerstaff constantly juggling minutes for starter Paul Reed, shifting starting power forward John Collins to play the five, and using Tolu Smith more often than he’d probably prefer.
The Pistons play six of nine games on the road over this stretch of games without Duren. That includes road tilts against the Spurs and Hawks. They will also face the Lakers, Wizards twice, Heat, Pelicans and Raptors. Their next game is today in an early evening matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers at Little Caesars Arena.
