The Buffalo Bills are off to a 3-0 start for the fifth time in the last eight seasons, but following a pair of dominant offensive performances that fueled Buffalo to victory in the first two weeks, it was Greg Rousseau, Ed Oliver, C.J. Gardner-Johnson and the defense’s turn to step up and make plays as Buffalo overcame five turnovers to beat the Los Angeles Chargers and remain undefeated.

Bills have found different ways to win, still have to fix ‘smoke alarms’
Among the reasons for optimism among Bills fans: pass rusher Greg Rousseau has been unstoppable, becoming just the third player in NFL history to notch two sacks in each of the first three games of the season; running back James Cook has overcome fumbling issues to continue to serve as a game-changer out of the backfield; defensive tackles Deone Walker, Ed Oliver and DeWayne Carter are leading a productive defensive front; the Josh Allen to DJ Moore connection is paying big dividends for an offense that hopes to continue producing explosive plays downfield; and Spencer Brown and O’Cyrus Torrence continue to anchor Buffalo’s veteran offensive line.
Among the causes for concern: the potential for the depth at cornerback to be severely tested following an injury to Christian Benford; too many costly penalties and self-inflicted wounds (see the two Josh Allen interceptions plus costly fumbles from Allen, Cook, and Dalton Kincaid); and the pass protection suddenly breaking down against a Chargers pass rush that has not been great to start the season.
