Bayern Munich loanees returned to their clubs after the international window. While all the leagues in Germany returned to play, the Premier League was still paused for the FA Cup. In Germany, Nübel held Dortmund scoreless until the very end. In the FA Cup, Peretz had a great match to lead his team past the Premier League leaders. There are three players from the first team on loan
to the German Bundesliga: Alexander Nübel, Arijon Ibrahimović, and Armando Sieb.
Alexander Nübel – VfB Stuttgart
Nübel started for Stuttgart at home against Dortmund on Saturday on the heels of his appearance for the national team. He needed just one save to keep a shutout through 90 minutes, but unfortunately BVB put to shots into the back of his net during stoppage time. His teammates were unable to score any goals and they fell 2-0 at home.
Stuttgart hosts HSV on Sunday.
Arijon Ibrahimović – 1. FC Heidenheim
Ibrahimović started on the bench as Heidenheim travelled to take on Borussia Mönchengladbach. He came into the match in the 62nd minute with the match level at 1-1 after both teams scored in the first half. He completed 92% of his passes, only misplaying one. He did not have a shot attempt but created a big chance for his teammate to shoot. Heidenheim found a goal to take the lead shortly after Ibrahimović came in, but they could not keep the lead. Gladbach equalized late and split the points with a 2-2 draw.
Heidenheim will host Union Berlin on Saturday.
Armindo Sieb – 1. FSV Mainz 05
Sieb was on the bench for Mainz away to Hoffenheim. He entered the match in the 15th minute with match level at 1-1. Shortly after coming in, Mainz found a goal to go up 2-1. He did not have a shot attempt but created a chance for his teammates to shoot. He also tracked back for two recoveries on defense to help them hold the lead. Mainz held on for the 2-1 win away.
Mainz will host Strasbourg from France in the first leg of the Conference League quarterfinal on Thursday. They will also host Freiburg in Bundesliga play on Sunday.
England – Premier League
There are two players on loan to the English Premier League: João Palhinha and Jonah Kusi-Asare.
João Palhinha – Tottenham
Spurs did not have a fixture this week due to FA Cup fixtures.
Tottenham will travel to face Sunderland on Sunday.
Jonah Kusi-Asare – Fulham
Kusi-Asare has been playing with Fulham’s U21 and has seen significant time since making that move mid-February. He had brace in his first match and scored another goal in the four matches with the Ut21 side. Neither Fulham nor their U21s had fixtures this week.
Fulham U21 hosts Chelsea U21 on Friday. The senior team will be away to Liverpool on Saturday.
England – Championship
Daniel Peretz is the only player on loan to England’s Championship.
Daniel Peretz – Southampton
Peretz was in goal for Southampton and gave an all time performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup. Arsenal had 23 total shots and put seven of them on goal. He only allowed one goal and made six saves — including one after the 90th minute — to give his team a chance to win. Southampton score first and held the lead until the 68th minute. They found a winner in the 85th minute to knock the Premier League leaders out of the FA Cup.
Southampton return to league play on Tuesday with a match against their direct rival for a playoff spot, Wrexham, in Wales. They will also host Derby County on Saturday.
Italy – Serie A
Bryan Zaragoza is the only player on loan to Serie A.
Bryan Zaragoza – AS Roma
Zaragoza was on the bench for Roma’s 5-2 loss away to Inter but did not make it onto the pitch.
Roma will host Pisa on Friday.

Sacha Boey is the only player on loan to the Turkish Super Lig.

Boey was on the bench for Galatasaray’s 2-1 away loss to Trabzonspor but did not make it onto the pitch.

Lovro Zvonarek is the only player on loan from the first team to the Swiss Super League.

Grasshopper has not played since the international break. They will host Sion on Monday and travel to face Winterthur on Saturday.

Noël Aséko – Hannover 96
Aséko started for Hannover against Elversberg. He did not have any shots but he was able to create two chances for his teammates to shoot. He also conceded a penalty in the second half which was the guests’ only goal on the day. He helped prevent a goal by tracking back and making a tackle as the last defender. He was subbed out in the 84th minute with the match level at 1-1. Neither team scored and Hannover settled for the draw at home.
Hannover will travel to Darmstadt on Saturday to take on Dettoni and his team.
Javier Fernández – 1. FC Nürnberg
Fernández started on the bench for Nürnberg and came into the match against Braunschweig in the 80th minute with the match level at 1-1. He was unable to attempt a shot nor create a chance for his teammates to shoot. Neither team scored in the final ten minutes and the teams shared the points.

Benedikt Wimmer – SV Sandhausen
Wimmer started for Sandhausen and played 90 minutes against SG Sonnenhof. He was unable to help his team on defense like he normally is. They allowed three goals at home and pulled back one late goal to lost 3-1 late.
Sandhausen will be away to TSV Steinbach Haiger on Friday.
David Emmanuel – Hessen Kassel
Emmanuel was not in the matchday squad of Kassel’s 2-1 away win against Bahlinger SC.
Kassel will be away to FC Astoria Walldorf on Saturday.

Richard Meier – Unterhaching
Meier started on the bench for Unterhaching for their home match against TSV Buchbach. He came off the bench in the 86th minute, shortly after his team went down 1-0. They were unable to find an equalizer in the dying minutes and fell 1-0 minute at home.

Hennig started for Hartberg at home against RB Salzburg. He played the first 62 minutes and had just 29 touches. He did not have a shot or chance created and had just one recovery on defense. Hartberg scored first in the second half but by the time Hennig left the match, Salzburg was down 2-1. Hartberg was unable to find an equalizer and fell by that score.
Hartberg will travel to face Sturm Graz on Sunday.
Jussef Nasrawe – SV Ried
Nasrawe started on the bench for Ried as they hosted Altach. He came into the match in the 85th minute with the match level 2-2. He had just eight touches and was unable to influence the match. Fortunately his teammate was able to find the later winner from the penalty spot to win 3-2.
Ried will travel to face Wolfsberger AC on Saturday.
