This week, we asked Jacksonville Jaguars fans if they’re ready to set Super Bowl expectations.
45% of respondents said yes.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Jacksonville’s odds to win Super Bowl LXI shifted from +3000 before the season to +2200 after the Week 1 blowout win over Cleveland.
As for the confidence survey, 95% of fans are confident the team is headed in the right direction.
That’s more like it!
I wonder how much the final game of the season is discussed in NFL buildings.
On one hand, teams
shouldn’t get too far ahead of themselves and worry about the future. It could distract from winning games right now. But I also think talking it into existence could be powerful.
If the Jaguars were to make it to the Super Bowl this season, wouldn’t you want them to be thinking, “Yeah! I knew we had it in us! This is our year!” rather than “Whoa! I can’t believe we made it. Are we actually good enough?”
If Jacksonville defeats Denver on Sunday, you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be talking the final game of the season into existence. I think we’re about to finally say goodbye to the “they’re bad until they aren’t” meme.
