Barcelona have been told that new signing Anthony Gordon is going to “rip it up” in La Liga and will fit perfectly into Hansi Flick’s side.
Gordon has arrived from Newcastle and signed a five-year contract at the club. Former Everton team-mate Salomon Rondon says he’s a great signing for the Catalans.
“I’m sure he’s going to tear it up in La Liga, because it’s quite dynamic football and also, in a Barça that plays the ball very well and always looks for spaces,” he told Sport.
“I know he’s going to
do very well and I wish him all the best, because he deserves it.
“He’s very versatile and very fast. I think at Newcastle he got to 37 kilometres per hour in a sprint. Technically he is very good and one-on-one is also one of his virtues.
“[He] fits perfectly into the style of this Barça and can be a very important piece.”
Gordon is said to have been a “special request” from Flick as he loves the winger’s intensity and was impressed by his performance against Newcastle in the Champions League group stages last season.
