The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday, looking to extend their recent three-game win streak as they’ve gotten off to a hot start in January.
After seeing inconsistent
play to start the year, starting 9-5 with blowout losses in Quad 1 games, the Badgers have rattled off wins over UCLA, No. 2 Michigan (on the road), and Minnesota (on the road). Now, they’re back at the Kohl Center, facing off against a Rutgers team that has started the year 9-8.
The Scarlet Knights got a tough beat to open up conference play, facing Purdue and Michigan, both top-three teams at the time, on the road. Those games were part of a stretch where Rutgers lost six of seven games, including ones to Central Connecticut, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and Seton Hall as well.
They have pulled off some wins over Oregon and Northwestern to get their first victories of the Big Ten slate. But the Rutgers offense hasn’t come together this year, with the team averaging under 70 points a contest and giving up 73.2 points per game.
