The Portland Trail Blazers beat the Sacramento Kings 98-93 on Saturday evening, but that relatively-pedestrian score in a relatively-pedestrian game is not what people will remember from this outing ten months, or ten years, from now. Instead they’ll be talking about a dunk that had NOTHING to do with pedestrian. It was air-flighted in over the head of veteran guard Russell Westbrook by the Trail Blazers’ Shaedon Sharpe.
The air-mail delivery came in the fourth quarter in the midst of a Sacramento
push to claim the game as the clock closed. Sharpe’s thunderous blow was simultaneously a highlight reel and a declaration of, “Not Tonight.”
Watch this and feel the air come out of the arena as Sharpe’s sneakers hit the floor (seemingly four hours after they left it).
Where does this rank among Sharpe’s all-time dunks? Debate in the comment section below.
