Oct 29 (Derek Harper, Field Level Media) - With the PGA Tour no longer holding a tournament in Hawaii, the PGA Tour Champions is doubling down on the Aloha State with consecutive events to begin its 2027 schedule.
Waialae Country Club, which was dropped from the PGA Tour's schedule for 2027, will now serve as the starting venue of the Champions season with the Sony Championship Hawaii in Honolulu from Jan. 14-16. The Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai will follow in Ka'upulehu-Kona
from Jan. 21-23.
"Hawaii has long been synonymous with PGA Tour golf, and we are looking forward to opening the season with back-to-back events in one of the world's most stunning locales," PGA Tour Champions president Miller Brady said.
The 24-event regular season will lead into the three-event playoffs, which will conclude with the Charles Schwab Cup Championship at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix from Nov. 12-14. The tour will hold tournaments in 18 states and three other countries: Wales, Portugal and Canada.
The Champions schedule will again feature five major championships, beginning with consecutive events at the Hoag Senior Players Championship from March 25-28 followed by the Senior PGA Championship from April 15-18.
The major championship schedule will conclude with the ISPS Handa Senior Open at Royal Porthcawl in Wales from July 22-25.
