(Reuters) -In a match made in marketing heaven, a flushable wipes brand has inked a deal to become presenting partner of the Philadelphia Eagles' infamous "Tush Push" play where teammates literally push their quarterback from behind to gain crucial yards.
The Eagles said on Tuesday the partnership with DUDE Wipes will kick off on Thursday when they open the 2025 NFL season, and the reigning Super Bowl champions are welcoming the brand with open arms - and presumably clean hands.
"We are thrilled to
welcome DUDE Wipes as a partner of the Philadelphia Eagles and look forward to having fun with their brand, both on and off the field, this season," Brian Napoli, the Eagles' senior vice president of corporate partnerships, said in a press release.
According to the Eagles, the partnership will include an ongoing series of collaborative social content throughout the season, product sampling at team-hosted events, and post-game radio highlighting the team's successful Tush Pushes.
The virtually unstoppable and controversial offensive play, which was made famous by Philadelphia and is sometimes called the Brotherly Shove, survived a vote among NFL owners in May to ban the rugby-style manoeuvre.
The Eagles converted 82% of their Tush Push attempts during the 2024 regular season and used it to open the scoring during their Super Bowl rout of the Kansas City Chiefs in February.
