Sep 30 (Field Level Media) - Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks is facing a misdemeanor DUI charge stemming from his arrest in March, Arizona Sports reported on Wednesday.
According to court records, prosecutors in Scottsdale, Ariz., filed a criminal complaint against the 30-year-old NBA veteran on Monday. He has a court date scheduled for Oct. 28.
Brooks was arrested at about 1 a.m. on March 6 for suspicion of driving under the influence. At the time, he was sidelined by a hand
injury.
The Suns signed Brooks to a three-year, $73 million extension in August.
The 2026-27 regular season tips off on Oct. 21 against the host Portland Trail Blazers.
Brooks posted a career-high average of 20.2 points per game in 2025-26, his first season after Phoenix acquired him in the deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets.
Brooks added 3.6 rebounds in 56 games (all starts) for the Suns. He averaged 26.0 points and 6.0 rebounds as Phoenix was swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in a four-game first-round playoff series.
Noted for his defense and for antagonizing opponents on the court, Brooks has been suspended six times in his NBA career, per BasketballReference.com.
A second-round draft pick in 2017, Brooks played six seasons for the Memphis Grizzlies before he was traded to Houston in July 2023. He spent two seasons with the Rockets (2023-25). In 548 NBA games (521 starts), Brooks has averaged 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals.
