New Delhi: Indian cricket team made the entire country proud by clinching the T20 World Cup 2026 title last week after an emphatic victory over New Zealand in the summit clash. While India were in a fix
all through the marquee event with a comprehensive performance coming up in just a few matches but the summit clash saw an all-round effort in all the departments.
The batters, bowlers and fielders made a joint efforts to win their third title in the shortest format - the most by any team in the world. With consistency remaining an issue for maximum players in the one-month event, there was just a lone player who delivered in a fabulous manner right from the start to he end.
Shivam Dube emerged as the star for the Indian cricket team with his flamboyant cameos which made a significant impact in India's win in 8 out of a total of 9 matches. After the culmination of the grand spectacle in Ahmedabad, every member of the Indian cricket team flew back to their respective home towns while Dube chose an alternative route.
As the tall left-hander did not find any flights back home to Mumbai, he along with his wife and a friend took a train's journey to head back home. Dube, being a star Indian cricketer, had all the risk of being spotted at the station and inside the train so he chose to disguise himself as a commoner to complete his travel successfully.

So as to not get recognised in the public, Shivam Dube wore a cap, a mask and a full-sleeved t-shirt to cover his face and other features of the body through which he could have been recognised. In addition, the southpaw purposely chose a 5.10 AM train departure expecting less crowd at the station and deliberately boarded the 3 AC train late, just 5 minutes prior to the departure time.
Upon boarding the train, he quickly took the upper berth and hid himself under a blanket for most part of the eight-hour journey. Media reports also suggest that he just woke up once to use the washroom. In addition, he dodged the ticket checker as well asking his wife to deny his identity when asked. He was also provide a police escort to make his exit safe and sound.
