The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has announced the 15-member Indian squad for the upcoming home Test series against West Indies. India are scheduled to play two Test matches against the Windies starting on October 2. Young batter Shubman Gillis set to return as captain of the Indian Test side, while star all-rounder Ravinra Jadeja has been appointed as vice-captain of the upcoming Test series against West Indies.
Talking about major changes from the squad in the England Test series, Devdutt Padikkal has been picked in the upcoming series against West Indies while Karun Nair has been dropped after an underwhelming performance in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Apart from that, the selectors continued to ignore Sarfaraz Khan
as he is again snubbed from the Indian Test side.
Rishabh Pant missed out from the squad due to broken foot
Star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is also missing from the Indian squad and Dhruv Jurel can be seen keeping wickets in the upcoming Test series against West Indies. Pant was vice-captain in the Test series against England this year. However, he suffered a painful injury while batting during the series and is currently on a recovery mode.
The first Test match of the series will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from October 2 to October 6. On the other hand, the second Test of the series is scheduled to take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from October 10 to October 14.
