Australia Women have been handed a massive setback just days ahead of the upcoming ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025. The team from Down Under will be without all-rounder Grace Harris, who has been ruled
out of the ICC Women’s World Cup with a calf strain. This comes just days after Australia Women lifted the three-match ODI series against India Women, where they defeated the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side by 43 runs in the series decider in Delhi.
It is to be noted that Grace Harris sustained an injury during Australia’s fielding innings against India on Saturday, September 20. Known for her big-hitting lower down the order, as is testified by her T20I strike-rate of 155.52, Harris can be a handy off-spinner with 21 international wickets to her name thus far.
Heather Graham to replace Grace Harris in Australia's ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 squad
With Harris out now with a calf strain, she will be replaced in the squad by Heather Graham, who will join the side in India following Western Australia’s opening two Women’s National Cricket League matches. Graham is a fast bowling all-rounder with six international appearances and nine wickets to her name.
Speaking of the defending champions, Australia will kickstart their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on October 4 in Colombo. Prior to the ICC Women's CWC, the Alyssa Healy-led side will play England Women in the warm-up fixture on September 27 at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence 1 in Bengaluru.
