Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel have been playing alongside each other for a long time. Before playing international cricket for Team India with each other, both were teammates in Gujarat. Both Gujarat-born
players have also developed an incredible bond with each other. The two players are currently in Australia for the five-match T20I series to start from October 29, and a day ahead of the opening game, Bumrah was seen pulling Axar’s legs over the latter’s ad post on Instagram.
In an ad post dropped by Axar on social media, the 30-year-old can be seen promoting inverters and batteries from a brand. Noting the all-rounder’s acting in the promotional video, Bumrah cracked a light-hearted joke, writing, “Kidney touching acting.” Responding to Bumrah’s comment, Axar wrote, “Thanks a lot bro next time my acting will touch your toes.”
Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel crucial for India in Australia T20Is
In the five-match T20I series against Australia Down Under, Bumrah and Axar will be crucial for Team India. Bumrah wasn’t a part of the three-match ODI series as he was rested for the series. The 31-year-old pacer will be expected to spearhead India’s pace attack confidently against the hosts, who are high on confidence after winning the 50-over series.
Axar’s role will be to bolster India’s spin-bowling attack with Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy. Donning the batter’s role, his job will be to strengthen India’s middle-order. In India’s nine-wicket win against Australia in the Sydney ODI, Axar looked extraordinary with the ball as he registered 1/18 figures in his six-over spell. India have never lost a T20I series (minimum two matches played) in Australia and they current T20 World Cup champions will look to continue this exceptional record by winning this series as well.
