Guiding one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to record five titles, former Indian cricketer and legend MS Dhoni continues to feature in the league despite turning 44. However, he continues to play his best brand of cricket, on this day in 2020, MS Dhoni became the first player to feature in 200 matches in the tournament’s history.
Taking the field in CSK’s match against Rajasthan Royals at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Dhonibecame the first player to appear in his 200th IPL match. Notably, before the start of the tournament, Suresh Raina was the highest capped player, but after he pulled out of the tournament, MS Dhoni went up to record this unique feat to his name in the esteemed
league.
While the feat was another feather in the cap for MS Dhoni, it came in CSK’s seventh loss of the season from ten matches. Overall in the 2020 edition of the tournament, CSK didn’t quite go well as they finished in the second last place, just above Rajasthan Royals.

Second-highest runs for CSK in IPL history: The wicketkeeper-batter has been in the annals of cricket for several different reasons, he is the second-highest run-getter for the Yellow Army, just after Suresh Raina. Dhoni has so far amassed 5314* runs in 272 matches.
