Matt Beard, the English football coach, who was a very active in his role in women’s football. The 47-year-old coached women's teams of Millwall, Chelsea, West Ham United, and Liverpool, etc. He was popularly
known for guiding Liverpool women’s team to consecutive WSL titles in the year 2013 and 2014. However, in a tragic turn of events, Matt Beard was found hanging in his room after commiting suicide, a coroner's court hearing was told on Monday, September 28.
At the hearing in Ruthin, Wales, it was stated that an official investigation regarding the death of Matt Beard has started to take place. It was on September 20 when an emergency call was made to the paramedics and they tried to save his life by taking him to the hospital after he was found hanging in his room. However, the English manager lost his life at the hospital.

The former Liverpool manager enjoyed his time with the Reds and played a vital role to lead the team to become the champions of WSL for two seasons straight. He made a comeback into the Liverpool team in the year 2021, however, he was sacked from his role in the month of February this year. His last spell as manager was with Burnley where he was in charge of the team for two months but he decided to leave the role in June for reasons unknown.
In order to pay a tribute to the life of Matt Beard, a minute’s silence was held at all the Women’s Super League matches, remembering the valuable contributions he made in English football. Many of his colleagues and players have expressed their grief and disappointment and expressed that he was one of the nicest human beings they had ever come across.
