Several cricket supporters have reacted to rain in Navi Mumbai on the final of the marquee event. Some of them also revealed what would happen if the match couldn’t be conducted today. An X user named Shishupal Kumar wrote, “Heavy rain continues in Navi Mumbai! November 3 is the reserve day for the Women’s World Cup final. If no play is possible even on that day, India and South Africa will share the trophy. #INDvSA #CWC25 #Final.”
India’s journey to the final in the Women’s World Cup 2025 final
India started their Women’s World Cup 2025 campaign with convincing victories over Sri Lanka and Pakistan but it was South Africa that halted India’s bandwagon with a three-wicket win against the hosts in Visakhapatnam. Following that defeat, India lost matches against Australia and England as well.
However, in the must-win game against New Zealand, Harmanpreet Kaur and her girls held their nerve and bagged a 53-run win to become the fourth semi-finalist of the competition. The final round-robin game against Bangladesh ended in no result due to rain. In the semi-final against Australia, India chased down the massive target of 339 with five wickets in hand and nine balls to spare.
