Krafton Fixes PMGC Slot Rule: BMIC 2025 Rankings Will Decide Qualifiers, No More Unfair Advantage for Japan and Korea

The BMIC 2025 is set to kick off on 31st October, but just a day before the event begins, Krafton India Esports has announced a major rule change, making the PMGC 2025 slot distribution fair for all regions.

Initially, the qualification process gave an unfair advantage to teams from South Korea and Japan, but the latest update ensures that every team at BMIC 2025 now competes on equal ground.

Earlier, if an already qualified PMGC 2025 team from South Korea or Japan (Dplus or REJECT) won the BMIC 2025, the extra PMGC slot would go to their region’s second-best team from the national PMGC rankings.

Similarly, if India’s Orangutan, who already hold a Gauntlet Stage slot, won the BMIC 2025, the extra slot would be given to the next best team from the BMIC standings.

This system meant that Korea and Japan could benefit regionally even if their top teams were already qualified, a rule many fans and players considered unfair to other regions, especially India.

What Has Changed Now

In a recent announcement, Krafton clarified that the PMGC seed structure has been corrected at the global level.

Now, PMGC slots will be distributed purely based on BMIC 2025 rankings, not on regional or national standings.

This means if Dplus or REJECT, both of whom already have PMGC Group Stage slots, win the BMIC 2025, the next highest-ranked team from the BMIC standings will receive the slot, regardless of their country.

With this change, Krafton has made sure the BMIC 2025 remains fair and competitive for all 16 participating teams.

Teams Already Qualified for PMGC 2025

Three teams from the BMIC lineup are already part of PMGC 2025:

• Orangutan (India) - Gauntlet Stage Slot
• Dplus (South Korea) - Group Stage Slot
• REJECT (Japan) - Group Stage Slot

Thanks to this update, now every team at BMIC 2025 from India, Japan, or Korea has an equal chance to qualify for PMGC 2025. This new rule makes the competition fair and purely based on performance.
