The India A team is currently in Doha for the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. Having won one game and losing the other, the Jitesh Sharma and Co. are placed second in the Group B standings. In their
third and final group stage fixture, they will lock horns with Oman, hoping to progress into the semi-finals, which will be played on November 21.
But ahead of this game, their opponents, Oman players were left awestruck on meeting the budding talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi. It is to be noted that the teenager has been sensational since he broke out of the scene in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with Rajasthan Royals (RR). In the ongoing Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025, Vaibhav scored a 144 off 42 deliveries against UAE, followed by a 45 off 28 balls against Pakistan A.
He’s just exceptional talent: Oman players in shock of Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s batting prowess
Seeing his sensational form with the bat for the Indian side, the Oman players were left in shock. Two of the player from the Oman side, namely Aryan Bisht and Samay Shrivastava were left surprised as they questioned at the age of 14, how can a player smash monstrous sixes. “We’ve only seen Vaibhav Suryavanshi on TV, and now we’ll be playing against him,” said Aryan Bisht in an interview with TimesofIndia.com.
Bring out his curiosity, Aryan further added, “When you’re 14 and you’re able to hit the ball that far, that’s just exceptional talent. It’s something not everybody can do — definitely something I couldn’t do at that age. 14 saal ke ho, kaise maarte ho ye chakke? [At 14, how are you smashing those sixes?] He’s really talented and very good, so I’m really looking forward to playing against him.” Not only this, Samay Shrivastava, who played for MP before moving to Oman, said, “It’s a great opportunity to meet him. I just want to know his mindset about cricket.”
He further exclaimed, “He’s only 14 and he’s already doing so well for his cricket and for India. The way he hits those big sixes is extraordinary. I really want to meet him and talk to him.”
