Star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has returned in the lineup as the BCCI has announced the squad for the upcoming home Test series against South Africa. The Indian team is set to host the Proteas in a two-match
Test series starting on November 14 followed by three ODIs and five T20Is. The first Test match will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata starting on November 14.
Shubman Gill will continue to lead the Indian Test side while Rishabh Pant is back in the role of a vice-captain after missing the Test series against West Indies. Pant suffered a painful toe injury during the Test series in England and was sidelined for a couple of months. However, he made his comeback in the series against South Africa and scored an impressive in the second innings showing his good form.
Tilak Varma to lead India A in ODI series vs South Africa A
Along with the Test squad, the BCCI has also announced the India A squad for the unofficial ODI series against South Africa A. India A and South Africa A will take on each other in a three-match ODI series starting on November 13. Young batter Tilak Varma has been appointed as captain of India A while Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed as his deputy.
