Arteta revealed that he was quite direct with the 24-year-old about his recent links away from the club. He remarked, “When you hear that noise, you can understand there are certain expectations. When I saw that with William, I asked him the question, he said, 'No, I want to stay here and play for you, I'm very happy as always'.” Arteta was very happy to hear that Saliba desires to remain a Gunner for a few more seasons.
According to multiple reports, Saliba is all set to sign a new contract with Arsenal until the year 2030 with a major hike in his wages at the club. The French international is confident that at this stage of his career Arsenal is the right club for him to keep growing under the expertise of Mikel Arteta.
