New Zealand veteran batter Kane Williamson has revealed his all-time Test batters. Williamson is one of the members of "Fab 4", who have been considered by many as the best batters in all formats of cricket
for over a decade until Virat Kohli’s Test retirement in 2025. Williamson, Kohli, Steve Smith, and Joe Root have managed to shatter several milestones, not only in the longest format of the sport, but also the white-ball scene as well. Williamson, who is associated with Middlesex, recently spoke on his team’s X channel and ignored his rivals Kohli, Smith, and Root while naming his all-time Test batters.
The New Zealander picked his role model and India legend Sachin Tendulkar, Australia great Don Bradman, Sri Lanka’s Kumara Sangakkara, and South Africa’s all-rounder Jacques Kallis as the best of the best. Tendulkar is the leading run-scorer in Tests while Bradman holds the phenomenal batting average of 99.94 in the format. Kallis is the fourth-leading run-getter in Tests, notching up 13289 runs in 166 matches while Sangakkara also scored more than 12000 runs in his 15-year red-ball career and also ended up as the most successful batter for his national team.
Kane Williamson’s recent outings in cricket
Kane Williamson played his last competitive game for London Spirit against Oval Invincibles in The Hundred at The Oval on August 25. Spirit couldn’t qualify for the knockouts but Williamson looked fine with his bat. The right-handed batter scored 204 runs in eight contests at a strike rate of 129.93.
Williamson has opted out of New Zealand central contracts for 2024-25 so he wasn't bound to participate for the Kiwi side against Australia in the three-match T20I series at home. The 35-year-old’s previous international match for New Zealand came against Team India in the Champions Trophy 2025 final played in Dubai.
