While the Indian cricket team is currently hosting West Indies in a two-match Test series, their arch-rivals Pakistan are hosting World Test champions, South Africa in an all-format series, consisting
of two Tests, three T20Is followed by as many ODIs. The South Africa series commenced from Sunday, October 12 with the first Test underway at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
For the unversed, ShanMasood-led Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. On the back of 93-run knocks from Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha, along with key knocks from the skipper and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan posted 378 runs. From the Protea side, Senuran Muthusamy was the pick of the bowler, scalping six wickets whereas Prenelan Subrayen picked two and Kagiso Rabada and Simon Harmer got one each to their name respectively.
After Babar Azam, Ramiz Raja mocks Noman Ali for his fancy glasses on Day 2 of 1 st Test
While the opening day saw several off-the field moments grab limelight, a similar stance was visible on Day 2 of the ongoing Test in Lahore. Earlier on Day 1, former Pakistan cricketer turned commentator Ramiz Raja was seen mocking at former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam as the latter consulted with his batting batter while the third umpire was waiting for the snickometer. Just at this moment, Ramiz Raja was heard saying, “Ab ye drama karega”, video of which has been making rounds.
But on Day 2, Raja was once again in news after his remarks made on spinner Noman Ali. Coming out to bowl in bright, sunny conditions at the Gaddafi Stadium on Day 2, Noman was spotted sporting bright green sunglasses. While he did perform with the ball, picking four wickets, but his eyewear drew much attention and former cricketer Ramiz Raja could not resist as he claimed them to be “fancy welding glasses.”
During his commentary stint, Raja said, “He is wearing a fancy pair of glasses. They look like welding glasses.” Speaking of the game, at Stumps on day 2, South Africa trailed Pakistan by 162 runs with their scorecard reading 216/6 after 67 overs. Tony de Zorzi (81*) and Senuran Muthusamy (6*) are in the middle as the Protea Men look to post a lead from hereon.
