Indian fast bowler Shardul Thakur is hoping to make a comeback in the Indian team in the limited overs format and is eyeing to be the part of the squad for the ODI World Cup in 2027. Thakur has been out

Now, as the Indian team is looking to form a balanced side for the 2027 ODI World Cup, Shardul Thakur also confirmed that he is trying hard to get into the team and be a part of the squad for the mega event in South Africa. The 34-year-old is aiming to get a number eight batting position in the 2027 World Cup and play a role of a fast bowling all-rounder.

"And, yes, the ODI World Cup is also in South Africa so there might be a place open for a bowling all-rounder at No. 8. I am, of course, eyeing that spot,” Thakur told PTI.
"Whenever the Indian team needs me or whenever I am selected, I am ready to play international cricket. My preparation is such that if tomorrow I am asked to play international cricket, I am ready," he further added.
