With the 2025 Davis Cup Finals set to take place in Bologna, Carlos Alcaraz has decided to withdraw from the even due to an injury, which has been troubling him off late. The 22-year-old has been diagnosed with a swollen right hamstring and the injury worsened during his stint at the ATP Finals.

Taking to X, Carlos Alcaraz confirmed
his decision to pull out of the Davis Cup Finals, which will be played on November 19 and 20. “I’m absolutely gutted to announce that I’m not going to be able to play with Spain in the Davis Cup in Bologna…. I have an edema in the hamstring of my right leg, and the medical recommendation is not to compete. I’ve always said that playing for Spain is the greatest thing there is, and I was so excited to be able to help fight for the Salad Bowl. I’m heading home feeling heartbroken…” his tweet translated to from Spanish.
His withdrawal leaves Spain without its leading player as they prepare to take on Czech Republic in the quarter-finals. Moreover, this setback comes after a demanding 2025 season where he won French Open and the US Open along with other titles.
