On October 27, 1986, Australia opening legend David Warner was born to Howard Warner and Lorainne Warner in Paddington, New South Wales. In January 2007, he made his domestic debut with his appearance
for New South Wales against Queensland in a T20 game, played in Brisbane. After 19 days, he was also handed his List A debut against Tasmania in Sydney. In January 2009, he also made his T20I debut for Australia against South Africa at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. By 2012 he became a crucial member of Australia in all three forms of the sport.
In 2015, hosts Australia won their fifth ICC Cricket World Cup title under Michael Clarke’s captaincy and Warner chipped in with 345 runs in eight matches. Warner was also a part of the Aussie side that won their maiden T20 World Cup title under Aaron Finch's leadership and the World Test Championship (WTC) mace in 2023. In the success, Warner emerged as the Player of the Tournament for ending up as the second-highest run-getter in the competition. The southpaw notched up 289 runs in with three fifties in seven matches at a strike rate of 146.70. In 2024, Warner retired from international cricket after serving Australia in the T20 World Cup held in the West Indies and United States.

David Warner’s distinguished IPL career
David Warner played IPL from 2009 to 2024 and during this period, he served Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He amassed 6565 runs in 184 matches at a strike rate of 139.77, and with these numbers, he is also the most successful IPL batter in the overseas category.

In 2016, he became the sixth IPL captain to win the title as he guided SRH to their maiden and only title win. He led the Orange Army from the front and concluded the competition as the second most successful batter with 848 runs in 17 matches. Warner is also the only player to bag the iconic Orange Cap thrice.
