Prior to an all-format series against India in India which will be played from November 14 to December 19, the Protea men’s team will travel to India for unofficial Tests and ODI series. On Thursday, October
16, the South Africa cricket board announced squads for the A team’s tour of India, which consists of two matches from October 30 to November 9, followed by three ODI match series from November 13 to 19.
Cricket South Africa announced the squads for the multi-format tour of India. While Marques Ackerman will lead the two sides across formats, it also see the return of Temba Bavuma. It is to be noted that Bavuma missed the two-match Test series against Pakistan earlier this month due to an injury. In his absence, Aiden Markram is leading the side.

With Bavuma expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, he is set to be match ready for the India series and has thus been named in the A squad for the two unofficial Tests. His involvement is seen as a strategic step to ensure he is prepared for the upcoming series. Bavuma is expected to play the second four-day match from November 6 to 9 at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
