As the Indian team is back home, they are hosting West Indies in a two-match Test series. While the first Test is underway in Ahmedabad, the two sides will travel to Delhi for the second Test, which will be played from October 10 to 14. While the side is back on the grind, the Indian side is missing some key players in Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. Although, Rohit and Kohli have retired from Test, Pant misses out as he continues to recovery from a fractured foot.
Pant, who played a key role in the England Test series in July-August, was ruled out of the fifth and final Test after suffering a fractured foot. While he was expected to be fit for the ongoing series, but it just required some extra time to heal before he gets back into
competitive cricket. As he continues to rehabilitate, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter was seen trying his hands on golf.

Taking to social media, Pant gave a hearty dose of laughter to his fans as he shared the video of his first attempt at playing golf. In a post on X which he captioned, “Ball went everywhere…. except where it should” saw him undergo some golfing misadventures. In the video, Pant can be seen struggling to putt the ball, but finally makes to the hole, celebrating in style.

Speaking of th first Test which is being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. The Roston Chase and men struggled in the middle and were bundled out at the score of 162 in 44.1 overs, courtesy a four-wicket haul from Mohammed Siraj along with a three-fer for Bumrah.
In reply, on the back of an unbeaten 80 off 168 deliveries from KL Rahul and a fighting knock from Shubman Gill, India posted a lead of over 20 runs in th first runs after ending day one at 121/2. As they aim to put up a dominating lead, KL Rahul is nearing his ton whereas Shubman Gill too is on the verge of getting to his half century.
