Openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis gave a decent start to Sri Lanka, stitching a 44-run stand for the first wicket off just 30 balls. Nissanka went back to the pavilion after scoring 22 runs off 15 balls. Pacer Taskin Ahmed got the better of him in the fifth over. In the eighth over, Mahedi Hasan hunted Kusal’s scalp and ended his innings on 34 off 25.

but Dasun Shanaka stood tall and hammered an unbeaten 64 off 37. Skipper Charith Asalanka also scored a quick 21 off 12 and riding on the innings from both batters, Sri Lanka reached a total of 168/7 in their 20 overs. From the Bangla side, Mustafizur Rahman emerged as the most effective bowler as he bagged three wickets after splurging only 20 runs in his four-over spell. Mahedi also got two wickets while Taskin recorded 1/37 figures in his four-over spell.

Following the target, Bangladeshlost opener Tanzid Hasan on the fifth delivery of the innings. He returned to the dugout on a duck. Saif Hassan stood in the middle and played a fierce knock of 61 after facing 45 balls. Captain Litton also contributed with his 23-run innings off 16 deliveries.
Towhid Hridoy also looked extraordinary and notched up a swift 58 runs off 37. The match reached the final over after Shanaka struck the Bangla side with the scalps of Jaker Ali and Mahedi Hasan. However, Bangladesh required only one off the last two deliveries of the match and Nasum stole a run to complete the chase for Bangladesh.
