The franchises have confirmed their list of retained players ahead of the next edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2026. The WPL 2026 auction is likely to place by the end of November 2025 and
several star players will be seen in the auction after the players retentions for the upcoming season.
The defending champions Mumbai Indians have retained five players for the upcoming season including skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver Brunt and Amanjot Kaur. However, they have released their star player Amelia Kerr ahead of the WPL 2026 auction. Talking about Royal Challengers Bengaluru have retained four players including captain Smriti Mandhana, Ellyse Perry, Shreyanka Patil and Richa Ghosh releasing players like Sneh Rana, Renuka Singh and Heather Graham.
Delhi Capitals released Meg Lanning, UP Warriors retained only one player
In Delhi Capitals, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma and Annabel Sutherland are among the top retention as they have released their skipper Meg Lanning. Gujarat Giants have retained only two players including Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney while UP Warriors have backed 21-year-old Shweta Sehrawat and released rest of the squad.
