Vipraj Nigam lodges complaint against woman over threat and harassment

Uttar Pradesh based cricketer Vipraj Nigam, who played for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 has filed a complaint against a woman for sending threatening messages to him via multiple international numbers. The FIR was filed at Kotwali Nagar police station of Barabanki district on Saturday, November 8. In his complaint, Nigam mentioned that he was getting multiple calls from a single number.

However, when Vipraj blocked that number, the same person started calling from several foreign numbers. “Initially, the calls were made from a mobile number, but after I blocked it, the same person began using several foreign numbers to harass me," said Vipraj as quoted in Times of India. In the complaint, Vipraj also alleged that the woman threatened to involve

him in false criminal cases if he refuses to accept her demands.

Woman accuses Vipraj nigam of sexual and physical violence

Vipraj Nigam found himself in a controversy after a user on X claimed that the UP based cricketer first befriended her and made fake promises of marriage and then threatened her. “UP’s IPL player Vipraj Purohit is a thug. This player knows how to toy with girls’ lives. Vipraj first befriended a woman named Richa, then lured her with promises of marriage, and then had physical relations with her at the Lemon Tree hotel in Noida, followed by assault," the viral post on X stated.

“He (Vipraj) kept repeatedly wronging the girl and threatening her and even forced her at gunpoint to make a video saying that the girl wouldn’t tarnish his image, wouldn’t create a scene by crying and complaining, and would settle the matter,” the woman further said on her X post as quoted in News18.
