Its been almost a week since the Indian women’s cricket team lifted the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, beating South Africa Women by 52 runs at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. While the victory
was special as it was their maiden World Cup title after years of toil, the celebrations continue to pour in as the Women in Blue are continuously being honoured across their respective state bodies, cricket associations.
As several cricket associations as well as state governments have also awarded the cricketers hailing from their native place, wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh was the latest to be honoured by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) as well as the West Bengal government. The 22-year-old was honoured wit the prestigious Banga Bhushan award from the state government, along with being felicitated with a golden bat and ball by the CAB.
Richa Ghosh rew arded with INR 34 Lakh cash reward and a DSP post in West Bengal Police
Apart from that, the Indian keeper-batter was also rewarded with a cash prize of INR 34 Lakh in the felicitation ceremony, along with a gold chain by the state Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee. Additionally, Richa Ghosh was also honoured with a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the West Bengal Police after her World Cup heroics. The appointment letter was handed in person by the CM in the starry felicitation ceremony, held on November 8.

The Government of West Bengal has appointed Richa Ghosh, a crucial member of the World Cup-winning Indian Women's Cricket Team, to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in West Bengal Police,” the West Bengal Police captioned a post on X.
Notably, Ghosh had an outstanding campaign at the recently-concluded World Cup, where she amassed 235 runs in eight matches at an average of 39.18 and a strike rate of 133.52.
