Indian ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyersuffered a ruptured spleen and rib cage injury while fielding during the third ODI against Australia in Sydney on October 25. Due to this, the 30-year-old was admitted

Ahead of the upcoming T20I series against, India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav also confirmed that he spoke to Iyer on phone and he is in stable condition. “We spoke to him (Shreyas). Then I realised that Shreyas doesn’t have his phone on him, and I called our physio Kamlesh Jain, who told us that he’s stable,” Suryakumar told the reporters ahead of the T20I series.
Shreyas Iyer’s parents decide to stay in India as son is on recovery mode
Notably, after Shreyas Iyer was shifted to the ICU, his parents were also planning to fly to Sydney to be with him. Now, after the latest updates regarding Shreyas’ injury, his parents decided to stay back in India. His father Santosh Iyer confirmed that BCCI is monitoring Shreyas’ injury and he is being treated by the best doctor in Sydney.
"The BCCI is monitoring his injury and he is on a recovery path. The best doctor in Sydney is treating him. He is likely to get discharged by weekend and perhaps may get even before that. Since he is not a part of the T20I squad, he will return soon. Contrary to earlier reports, we are not going to Sydney.” Santosh Iyer told while speaking to Deccan Chronicle.
