West Ham United are reportedly considering options to replace their current manager Graham Potter after a poor start to the Premier League season, which continued with a loss to Crystal Palace 2-1 at the London Stadium on Saturday, September 20. The Hammers have lost four of their first five matches in the English top flight, to find themselves in 18th spot in the standings with just three points to their name with no real indication of things changing for the better anytime soon.
As per the report published in BBC Sport, the sources told them about how West Ham United have begun the process of finding candidates to replace manager Graham Potter before their loss to Crystal Palace at home in the London derby despite it not being an ideal scenario
at the start of the season. It is understood that Nuno Espirito Santo is among the candidates to replace the current boss, while discussions have taken place internally to bring back Slaven Bilic on a short-term basis.

The officials at West Ham United are also keeping an eye on Gary O’Neil, who is currently available in the market after managing Bournemouth and Wolves in recent years. In their next Premier League contest, the Hammers will be taking on Everton away at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium on next Monday, September 30, following which they will place Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the London derby on Saturday, October 4.
Moreover, Graham Potter became the manager of West Ham United in January 2025 after the departure of Julen Lopetegui, securing just six wins in 25 matches in all competitions. Following the recent loss, the former Chelsea and Brighton manager was quoted as saying, “It's tough, the results are not what we want at all. I feel for the players, supporters, everybody connected with the club. We have to stick together and find a solution.”
The situation is so dire for Graham Potter at West Ham United that the home fans chanted “getting sacked in the morning” at him.
