Finally a new world champion in women's cricket has been crowned as India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai
on Sunday, November 2. For the first time in 25 years, a new team has been crowned as the world champion in the Women's One Day International (WODI) cricket. The quadrennial Women's Cricket World Cup tournament, which began in Guwahati on September 30, came to its conclusion after 31 matches played across India and Sri Lanka.
Over the years, Australia have turned out to be the most successful in the Women’s CWC history with seven titles to their name. After them, inaugural champions England are the second most successful side with four titles while New Zealand won it for the first-time in 2000. With the new champion crowned now, let’s have a look at the winner of every ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup edition played so far, starting with the first one in 1973.
