With the Women’s Premier League (WPL) aiming its return with the fourth edition early next year, the tournament is set to see its first-ever mega auction, which will take place later this month. The Board
of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) some days ago confirmed that the the WPL 2026 auction will be held in Delhi on November 27 with the franchises then confirming their retention list.
With all that done and the next season set to be played in January-February window, due to the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 scheduled for February-March in India and Sri Lanka, recent reports have revealed that the BCCI has more or less confirmed on the venues. Sources close to SportsTiger have informed that Navi Mumbai and Lucknow are set to be the two venues, whereas the board is also looking to add one more ground.
The 2025 edition of the tournament was held across four venues in Mumbai, Vadodara, Lucknow and Bengaluru. The season saw Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians Women lift their second title after winning the inaugural edition in 2023.
