In match number 26 of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, reigning champions Australia Women will take on South Africa Women on Saturday, October 25 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. While the match will be one
last for both the sides in the league stage as both teams have already secured a place in the knockouts and will play for a top of the table finish.
Coming into the tournament as the defending champions and being the most successful team in Women’s ODIs, Australia Women are unbeaten so far in the tournament, however, the Protean side are also not far away. The Laura Wolvaardt-led side are placed second and registered only one defeat which came early in the tournament against England Women.
Alyssa Healy trains ahead of match vs SA-W; participation in doubt
But as the Aussies step on the field, the biggest question which comes is their skipper Alyssa Healy’s participation. Healy, who sustained a minor calf strain during a training session, missed Australia Women’s game against England Women. While she continues her recovery, vice-captain Tahlia McGrath was asked of the same at the pre-match press conference.
"Midge is at training today. We haven’t finalised the playing eleven yet, as she’s still a bit of a day-by-day case. We’ll see how that pans out,” McGrath said. Healy was part of light training and underwent observed jogging with a compression sleeve on her right calf. It is to be noted that Alyssa Healy in the third highest run-getter in the tournament, having amassed 294 runs from five matches. She sits only behind India’s opening duo Smriti Mandhana (331) and Pratika Rawal (308).
